Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using houseiq.com.au (“HouseIQ”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid tier users.
2. Nature of the Service — Not Financial Advice
Nothing in a HouseIQ report should be relied upon as the basis for making any financial decision, including whether to purchase a property, at what price, or with what financing arrangements. You should always obtain independent professional advice from a licensed financial adviser, solicitor, conveyancer, and/or building and pest inspector before purchasing property.
HouseIQ is an information aggregation and analysis tool. Its value is in surfacing publicly available data in a convenient, readable format — not in providing personalised advice about your specific financial situation.
3. Data Accuracy
HouseIQ sources data from Queensland government databases, council records, and other publicly available sources. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy, we make no representation or warranty that report data is:
- Complete, accurate, or current at the time of report generation
- Free from errors arising from the underlying data sources
- Suitable for any particular purpose
Flood zone classifications, development application data, and other regulatory information can change. HouseIQ reports represent a snapshot at the time of generation and should not be treated as definitive or current for any period after that date.
Insurance premium estimates and grant eligibility calculations are approximations based on industry data and publicly available government thresholds. Actual premiums and grant outcomes will be determined by your insurer and the relevant government authority respectively.
4. Refund Policy
To request a refund:
- Email us at refunds@houseiq.com.au
- Include your report ID (shown at the bottom of your report)
- Describe the specific data point you believe is incorrect and, if possible, include a link to the source you believe is correct
We aim to respond to refund requests within 2 business days. Refunds are processed to the original payment method via Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 business days.
Refunds are not available on the grounds that the property was not purchased, that the report confirmed a risk you were already aware of, or that you simply changed your mind about using the service.
5. Permitted Use
You may use HouseIQ reports for:
- Personal property research for your own potential purchase
- Sharing with your solicitor, conveyancer, mortgage broker, or financial adviser in connection with your potential purchase
- Sharing with family members assisting with your property search
You may not:
- Resell, redistribute, or sub-licence HouseIQ reports to third parties for commercial gain
- Use HouseIQ to build a competing data product or service
- Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the HouseIQ service
- Use the service in any way that violates applicable Australian law
6. Pro Search Pack
The Pro Search Pack ($150) grants a single named user unlimited full reports for 30 calendar days from the date of purchase. The pack is non-transferable and may not be shared with other users. It automatically expires at the end of the 30-day period with no automatic renewal or charge.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and software comprising the HouseIQ service is owned by or licensed to HouseIQ and is protected by Australian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from HouseIQ content without written permission, except as expressly permitted in these terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, HouseIQ and its operators, employees, and contractors are not liable for any loss or damage (including consequential, indirect, or financial loss) arising from:
- Reliance on any data or analysis in a HouseIQ report
- Any property purchase decision made using a HouseIQ report
- Errors or omissions in underlying government or council data
- Service interruptions or data unavailability
Where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the cost of the report, at our discretion.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Use at any time. The current version will always be available at houseiq.com.au/terms. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
